Jewish monuments
The ghetto creates an urban complex, established probably in the 15th century. It is an ancient monument. The synagogue called “maior” was built in 1698 and adapted in Neo-Gothic style in the second half of the 19th century. In the interior are preserved Hebrew inscriptions on the walls.
One of the largest preserved cemeteries in the Czech Republic, with Baroque and Classicist tombstones.
Old Jewish cemetery with almost one thousand tombstones, the oldest of which dates back to the beginning of the 18th century.
The Jewish settlement dates back to the 17th century. The Jewish quarter with a square creates an interesting urban complex with 35 houses and a late Baroque synagogue from 1780 – 85. After reconstruction in 1997 the building serves as a community centre.
