Observation towers and sight-seeing locations
A lookout tower built on the steep slope over the river Svitava in 1887 was named after Alexander Suchanek, who has merit in its foundation. The building lost its original romantic features during the Second World War, when it was razed almost to the ground for strategic reasons. Its redemption was the position favourable for retranslation of television signal - torso of the tower was rebuilt to a transmitter with a gallery open to public in 1963. Unfortunately, the lookout tower is rather low and its vista is limited to surrounding woods of Drahanská vrchovina.
Ruins, city fortifications
The reconstructed ruin of a stronghold built on the promontory above the Svitava river in the 15th century. At the beginning of the 19th century it was rebuilt into a hunting castle, which was abandoned in the 50s of the 20th century. Close to the New castle are visible remains of the Old castle from the 13th century.

Zoological and botanical gardens, arboretums, and caves
The labyrinth of dark corridors and houses was created by the displacement of the Křtinsky stream. The Czechoslovakian people’s army gradually built a huge atomic defence shelter in one of the cave’s corridors, where back-up military headquarters were seated. The top-secret building was abandoned by the military at the end of 2001.
